Ray Student Art Gallery In Process
Ms. Dana is very excited to announce that Ray School will be unveiling our new student art gallery very soon. The gallery will be located at the north end of the annex building on the second floor, just down the hall from the art room. We are currently working on gathering minimal furnishings for the space. We would like our gallery to become a destination for students and staff, a quiet place to chat or gather your thoughts…and see some awesome student art! We are looking for a donated area rug, 9×12 or larger and a small floor lamp. If you have gently used items you would like to donate, please contact Ms. Dana at firstname.lastname@example.org. Our goal is for each grade level to have their own art show (including an opening for family and friends with light refreshments) during the school year. As soon as we are up and running with our show schedule we will share the information here!
Thanks to a very generous donation from a Ray parent, we will be offering printmaking at all grade levels after Winter Break. K-2 will be making their prints using common objects such as fruits and vegetables, bubble wrap, wood blocks and plastic bottles. Upper grades will be building on the elements of 2-dimensional art they have been studying to create intaglio prints using foamboard.
